This Could Be Dangerous

Tomorrow I'm waking up EXTRA early just so I can go here .

How fun does that sound!?!

Please pray that I am able to remain strong and composed.
I don't want to shock Matthew with a new puppy...

...well I kinda do.

Me around 500+ dogs for even 5 minutes is dangerous...very dangerous.

Have a FABULOUS weekend! It's supposed to be 89 degrees here on Sunday. HELLO FOLLY BEACH!!

P90X: Day 4

P90X: Yoga

This is my least favorite workout thus far for the following reasons:

--It is soooo long
--I hate downward dog
--I am extremely unflexible (i can't touch my toes)
--I forget to breathe correctly
--I have horrible coordination and balance
--I have weak wrists
--And finally because I seriously cannot get my body to do this...

YEAH RIGHT!

I'm holding out hope that the LEAST yoga will do for me is get me more flexible so that I can touch my toes. But if I can ever do this...I'll be sure to take a picture and let you know! Don't hold your breath though!

*I realized that more than 4 days have passed since I posted Day 1, but I have a valid reason! I didn't want to do anything with a lot of twists and turns and laying on my back until I had a few days from my surgery on my back! I'm back now.

Moving!

this weekend i'm moving...
...moving o-u-t my winter clothes
to make room for my spring and summer wardrobe.
i'm very excited about this
winter clothes are just heavy and boring
summer clothes are fun, light, and playful
bring on the summer temperatures!

maybe this colorful romper will make an appearance in my wardrobe?

T:A:N

I had mild surgery on Monday.
Two moles being removed resulting in about 15 stitches.
I took my bandages off tonight (I'll spare you the pics).
One scar could be vicious.
Don't all scars tell a story?

This is my story:

I loved the sun, I loved being tan.
I didn't listen when my body screamed that it didn't want to be tan.
I was young and stupid.

Now, I value my skin and my body.
I use SPF 50--yeah it's like a paste!
I take care of myself and my skin in hopes that when I'm 50, I'll look 25 *just maybe*
It's never too late.

Tan? I'll pass!

worried

i am a planner.
i hate the unknown.
i worry about every little detail.
i need to learn to let the small things go and realize
everything happens for a reason.
God is in control and everything will fall into place.
i hate worrying.
i just like to know.

"Mousy"

Yesterday I went to the hairdresser. I tried out a new place because I have yet to find the person that can compare with my hairdresser at Klassy Kuts in Virginia (I have been going there since I was in the 6th grade). I hold these hairdressers to a HIGH standard and I have blonde hair (it's natural with just a little maintenance...lol) and when i leave I don't want it to look brassy, yellow, or platinum!! Here is a re-cap of my conversation with the hairdresser.

*****

Hairdresser: "So what are we going to do with your color today?"

Me: "Well, I'm really not sure, I've been toying with the idea of letting all my highlights grow out and get back to my natural color, but I can't ever decide."

Hairdresser: "Well what would you think of lowlights and highlights?"

Me: "Ehhh...not for summer, but I've thought about it."

Hairdresser: "Well what did you have done at the last place?"

Me: (condensed version): "Well she gave me highlights, they weren't blonde enough and so I went back and got a base break to lighten them up."

Hairdresser: "Hmmm, I'm really not sure why she did a base break.  A base break is for people who get blonde highlights but have REALLY dark hair naturally. Your hair is dirty blonde naturally...very mousy."

Me (thinking to myself): Oh my gosh, did she just tell me my hair is the color of a rodent!!!???

*****

Yes, she did! Apparently "mousy blonde" or "mousy brown" is a hair color. So, see this cute little guy above, that is the color of my hair. awesome. I don't know what is worse..having your color described as "mousy" or as a dirty blonde a.k.a. "dishwater". If that is the color of my hair, I will NEVER EVER let my highlights grow out. If her mission was to get my money forever and ever..then job.well.done.

This is the official definition of mousy:

mousey (variant of mousy) - of something having a drab pale brown color resembling a mouse; "a mousy brownish-grey color"; "mousy hair"; "mouse-colored hair"

These are the words that freak me out in that definition
1. drab
2. pale
3. grey
4. mouse-colored

Oh, and I emailed my mom about this incident and she says this: "They told me I had mousey-brown hair, too!!!"

great. it's genetics. thanks mom.

good thing I went with those blonde highlights again. *whew*

Book Club

I don't have a book club, but I do LOVE to read, and every chance I get, I share my favorite book with as many girls I can.

*****

Something Borrowed is my favorite book to date. Yes, I'll even put it ahead of all Nicholas Sparks' books, and the Twilight series. This book has the perfect amount of drama, romance, and suspense. The sequel to this is Something Blue and it is just as entertaining! PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVEN'T!!

Now, to make things even better, I learned that my favorite book is going to be made into a movie. It is set to release in 2011 and the cast is STACKED! Kate Hudson (my fav.), Colin Farrell, Ginnifer Goodwin, and John Krasinski are set as characters thus far.

Read this book and then go to http://www.imdb.com/ and see which actor/actress is playing which character. I think they line up PERFECTLY.

Made my day!!!
